SumoFiber ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect about you, how we use it, when and with whom we share it, and the choices you have. This policy applies to our internet service, voice service, TV service, SumoMobile cellular service, our website, our help center, our customer portal, and any mobile or web applications we make available.
We serve customers across Utah, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, California, Wisconsin, Illinois, and New York. If you are a resident of a state with its own privacy law, additional rights apply. See the state-specific notices at the end of this policy.

Information We Collect
Information you give us
When you sign up for service, manage your account, or contact us, we collect information including your name, service and billing address, phone number, email address, payment information, and other details needed to provide service. For business accounts, we may collect business names, tax identification, and authorized contact information.
Information we collect automatically
When you use our service or visit our website, we automatically collect technical information such as device identifiers, IP addresses, MAC addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. For voice service, we collect call records including the numbers called, time, and duration of calls. This call data is treated as Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI) and is described in our CPNI Policy.
Information from third parties
We may receive information from credit reporting agencies, fraud prevention services, our open access network partners (including UTOPIA Fiber and other community fiber networks), and other third parties to verify your identity, assess credit, or deliver service.

How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:

Customer Proprietary Network Information
Federal law gives special protection to information about your voice service, including the types of services you use, calling patterns, and usage data. This is called Customer Proprietary Network Information, or CPNI. We do not share, rent, or sell CPNI to third parties for their marketing.
We may use CPNI internally to recommend other services we offer. You have the right to opt out of these communications at any time by contacting us. See our CPNI Policy for more detail.
Text Messages and Calls
If you provide your phone number, you agree we may contact you for account-related and service-related purposes, including billing, outage notifications, installation updates, and customer service.
If you opt in to receive marketing texts from SumoFiber, you agree to receive text messages from us about new services, promotions, and special offers. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Your consent to receive marketing texts is not a condition of purchase. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help.
We use third-party service providers to send messages. These providers are permitted to use your information only to deliver messages on our behalf.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. These include access controls, encryption of sensitive data in transit, employee training, and password protection on your account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we ever experience a data security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law.
Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period after, to comply with legal, tax, accounting, and dispute resolution obligations. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days for debugging. Customer access logs are retained until you ask us to remove them. We may retain data related to fraud, spam, or abuse for up to three years to support investigation and prevention. When we no longer need the information, we delete or de-identify it.
Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Choices
Access and updates
You can review and update your account information by logging in to your account at account.sumofiber.com or by contacting customer service.
Marketing
You can opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any marketing message. You can opt out of marketing texts by replying STOP. You can opt out of marketing calls by telling the caller during the call or contacting customer service.
CPNI
You can opt out of our use of CPNI for marketing our other services at any time by contacting us at the addresses below. Your choice will remain in effect until you change it.

If you are a Colorado resident, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your personal data, and to opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. We do not sell personal data or engage in targeted advertising as defined by Colorado law. You may submit requests using the contact information below. Montana Residents (Montana Consumer Data Privacy Act)

We do not collect, store, or use biometric identifiers or biometric information as defined under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act in the ordinary course of providing service.
